Representatives of the Prague ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL today
Representatives of the Prague ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL today discussed possible cooperation for the autumn municipal elections and the possible formation of a coalition. No specific agreement was reached.
He told the MEP, the chairman of the Prague TOP 09 and the city councilor Jiří Pospíšil. The next meeting will take place in advance on a week on Sunday. If the parties agreed, they would function like the Together coalition at the governmental level.
“It was a matter of fact and calm. We talk about the program and clarify our position. By no means do we want to convey that we recommend for the mother to be inactive. If they agreed, we want it to be solid, not done in a hurry, “said Pospíšil.
In recent weeks, the Civic Democrats have sent both draft memoranda on the formation of a Together election coalition. According to the document, the cooperation should also contribute to better communication and relations between Prague and the government. The document also proposes dividing the ratio of party representatives as seven for the ODS, four for the TOP 09 and one for the People’s Party. According to the proposal, the candidate for mayor and leader of the candidate would be selected by the ODS.
According to ČTK, the proportion of the distribution of seats does not like, among other things, the members of the Prague TOP 09, which should also negotiate cooperation with STAN on Monday. TOP 09, STAN and the People’s Party formed a coalition of the United Forces for Prague before the elections in 2018, which now rules together with the Pirates and Prague.
At present, it is clear that the position will be defended by the current mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), whom the Prague pirates have chosen as the leader of the candidate. The intention to apply for the mayor’s chain was also announced by the mayor of Prague7 and the Prague representative and leader of Prague, Jan Čižinský. However, unlike political parties and movements, the so-called civic candidate of Prague still has to get the signatures of seven percent of the population of Prague in order to be able to run for the votes of voters in the elections at all.
The municipal elections in 2018 in Prague were won by the ODS, which has 14 seats in the 65-member city council. In second place were Pirates, who have 13 deputies, the same number as the third Prague itself and the fourth United Forces. YES has 12 deputies and is in opposition with the ODS. The Coalition of Pirates, Prague and the United Forces has a majority of 39 seats. (CTK)
