PEAS expands: Hasselt vegan cinnamon rolls now also in Antwerp (Hasselt)
PEAS learned to eat vegan cinnamon buns in Limburg, and now wants to do the same in Antwerp. Business managers Els Berx and Davy Rosiak, who started three and a half years above the first PEAS store in Hasselt, are working on their plans to conquer the whole of Flanders with their cinnamon buns.
Els Berx: “The expansion has been on the table for two years, but now we can implement the plan. Last year we already meant a number of pick-up moments in other Flemish cities, and that turned out to be a great success. It was the ideal barometer and preparation for us to take this step.”
The choice fell first on Antwerp. Els: “It is the largest Flemish city, so it also has a very large potential. There is an enormously diverse public with many tourists, and last but not least: an excellent breeding ground for the plant-based concept.”
“The concept is the same as in the Hasselt branch: we also offer a range of cinnamon rolls with toppings that we make ourselves and come up with. But we have put extra effort into the shopping experience in Antwerp.”
After Hasselt and Antwerp, PEAS also wants to introduce Leuven and Ghent to their 100 percent plant-based cinnamon rolls. Els: “That is still on the agenda for 2022, so it will be a busy year.”
