Rossiya Airlines may receive 32 MC-21 aircraft by 2024
Moscow. December 30th. INTERFAX.RU – Rossiya Airlines, which is expected to become the first operator of domestic MS-21s, may receive 32 such aircraft by 2024, said the head of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov in interview the RBC newspaper.
“UAC is also working to form an investment project for the supply of 32 MC-21 aircraft for the needs of Rossiya Airlines until 2024. The total funding for this project is RUB 155 billion. (60% – NWF, 40% – borrowed funds) “, – said the minister.
The first MS-21 “Russia” (part of the “Aeroflot” group) expects to receive in September 2022, a source previously reported to “Interfax”. Delivery of the second vessel is expected in November, and in December. In total, according to the strategy of the Aeroflot group, by 2028 there will be 85 MS-21s in the Rossiya fleet: Aeroflot has a firm contract for 50 units with an option for 35.
Earlier in December, MS-21 received a basic type certificate from the Federal Air Transport Agency, which means the safe operation of the aircraft. This is a version with American Pratt & Whitney engines and a wing made of imported composite materials. Certification of the MS-21 with a Russian engine and wing is expected in 2022, Manturov said earlier.
The entire program to support Russian-made aircraft until 2030 involves the transfer of 583 and 462 helicopters to operators, Manturov recalled. As reported, in 2022, 79 billion rubles will be allocated from the National Welfare Fund (NWF) for these purposes, in 2023 and 2024 – 100 billion rubles each.
“The program includes five categories of customers,” the minister said. “The first three are executive bodies, state corporations and companies, as well as commercial air carriers. (“Aurora” – IF)It is planned to deliver 42 aircraft to Aurora by 2025 (Superjet 100, Il-114-300, L-410, LMS).
