“The Northern Fleet will continue to interact with the Norwegian seas on the search and rescue of people at sea and the elimination of the consequences of man-made accidents. In 2022, the Severomors plan to take part in the international rescue exercise Barents, the message says.
It is noted that military and civilian rescuers from both Russia and Norway will take part in the maneuvers. Traditionally, the Northern Fleet provides up to two rescue vessels for these exercises, as well as military aircraft and air defense systems for the search and rescue of people at sea.
The Barents exercise has been held for a year within the framework of an agreement between Russia and Norway since 1995 on cooperation in finding missing persons and rescuing people in distress, as well as on cooperation in combating oil pollution in the Barents Sea.
Earlier it was reported that in the Kaliningrad region, Russian marines conducted exercises to eliminate conditional saboteurs.
