Russia entered the top five exporters of coronavirus vaccines – Economy and business
TASS, December 28. Russia ranked fifth in the world in terms of production and export of vaccines against COVID-19. This is reported on website World Trade Organization (WTO).
As of November 30, the share of the Russian Federation in the global export of vaccines against coronavirus is 2.6%. Since the beginning of the vaccine transfer, Russia has managed to export more than 90 million doses.
At the same time, about 140 million doses were delivered to the domestic market of the country.
The leader among the countries – exporters of anti-coronavirus vaccines is the People’s Republic of China, whose exports account for 40.6% of the global total. In second place are the countries of the community, whose export volumes were taken into account together and accounted for 37.3% of world exports. The third place was taken by the United States (9.5%), and the fourth – by the Republic of Korea (3.6%).
The COVID-19 Vaccine Tracking Plan is a joint project of the WTO and the International Monetary Fund. It reflects data on the production and distribution of vaccines around the world.
Sputnik V vaccine, family in Russia on August 11, 2020, became the world’s first officially recognized vaccine against coronavirus. The drug is currently approved in 71 countries.
