The Kaštanka garden in Stromovka will be reconstructed for 24 million Prague 7 | From the region Pražská Drbna
Next year, the management of the capital will have the Kaštanka garden in the vicinity of the Šlecht restaurant in Stromovka reconstructed. Trees will be planted here, land will be added and the engineering network necessary for the construction of public toilets will be added. The costs are tentatively set at 24 million crowns. This follows from the city’s approved budget for 2022. At the turn of 2017 and 2018, the city began repairing the restaurant itself. The first part of the repairs to the main building ended last autumn.
The plan for the repair of Kaštanka, including the area in front of the northern façade of the restaurant, is based on the restoration of the original species composition of trees documented from the 19th century, when chestnuts grew here. Their original layout will be preserved. The height of the trees will be a maximum of 11 meters so as not to obscure the view from Mecsery Road to the ponds opposite the restaurant.
Furthermore, the city will have landscaping and landscaping done here, the retaining wall will also be repaired and the slope above Kaštanka and the Noble Restaurant will be secured. The garden will be fenced and workers will build utility connections for future toilets.
In addition to repairing Kaštanka, the city in Stromovka plans to repair the surroundings of the Koníček playground. The playground has outdated game elements and surface. The historic staircase around Mecser’s Road and the thrashed and cobbled path will be restored. The course will have a new surface, game elements will be replaced and the course will have new lighting and furniture in the vicinity. The greenery will also be modified.
