Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev switched to Russian on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel, commenting on the press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He said that the Ukrainian authorities “left before the end of January”, despite the Russian troops at the borders of Ukraine.
“We need a new ruling class, new deputies, not the same as now,” he added.
Formerly head of the office of the Ukrainian leader Andriy Yermak declaredthat the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky this year unsuccessfully tried to call his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. This is reported by the “Focus” edition.
He agrees that as soon as there is confidence that Putin will talk, and there is also a subject for conversation, the dialogue will take place. Yermak added that Zelensky is ready to participate in negotiations and to a meeting with the President of Russia, however, there is no specific date when this can happen.
Prior to that, Zelensky told his colleagues from Lithuania and Poland that Kiev is ready for a peaceful settlement in Donbass and holding a meeting in the “Normandy format”. The Ukrainian leader yesterday met with the President of Poland and Lithuania Andrzej Duda and Gitanas Nauseda within the framework of the Lublin Triangle.
