Night train between Amsterdam and Zurich officially on track

The first night train from Zurich arrived at Amsterdam Central at 09:59 today. Tonight, the same train will depart for the first time from the capital via Basel to Zurich at 8:28 PM. the implementation of the sustainable night train connection between the Netherlands and Switzerland has officially started from today.
The Nightjet runs daily via Germany to Switzerland in 11.5 hours. Travelers from the Netherlands can board in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Arnhem. In the opposite direction, a Nightjet arrives every morning at the same stations in the Netherlands. The train consists of fourteen carriages: two sleeping carriages with beds, four couchette carriages and eight seating carriages. Each sleeping compartment has its own washing facility (sink with cold and warm water). Breakfast is included with the berths and sleeping places. There is also room for a number of bicycles and it is possible to travel with a wheelchair. In total, the train can accommodate 876 passengers.
Popular Destinations
Zurich and Basel are destinations for business trips as well as getaways. From there it is also easy to travel on to further destinations in Switzerland and Italy. This way travelers can still be in Milan before lunch. International director Heike Luiten says that this is not possible due to the restrictions on internationally changing corona measures: “We hope to be able to receive all our travelers soon at night to Zurich.”
Tickets for the night train are available via nsinternational.nl and are available from 38 euros for a seat, from 50 euros for a berth and the sleeping places can be booked from 90 euros.
