Balmazújváros – The highly pathogenic avian influenza virus subtype H5N1 was detected on December 7 by the laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) in Balmazújváros, in a flock of 42,000 roast ducks. To ensure the spread of the epidemic, specialists have begun liquidating the site.
Based on the increased mortality of ducks in the poultry flock in Balmazújváros, the workers of the farm concluded the appearance of avian influenza. The suspicion was also confirmed by laboratory tests by Nébih, the death of the animals was caused by the H5N1 subtype of the virus.
