At Václav Havel Prague Airport, representatives of Prague Airport and Air Traffic Management met with the mayors and mayors of the municipalities and districts of Prague, which are located in the vicinity of the airport and are involved in the Prague Airport Region, on Thursday. Participants confirmed their interest in building on previous cooperation and resuming activities that help improve living conditions around the airport.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport Jiří Pos and the Chairman of the Prague Airport Area and the Mayor of Únětice Vladimír Vytiska’s councils enabled the state of preparation of joint memoranda of understanding and cooperation. The basic areas are the environment, the development of the airport and municipalities and mutual information.
Jiří Pos further summarized this year, when Prague provided its surroundings with various works, whether it was the maintenance of greenery, roads or field work. In total, Prague Airport employees worked over 1,000 hours as part of these activities. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport, Jiří Pos, further stated: “We are ready to return to the cooperation for next year the financial support for various projects to improve the environment or social life in municipalities, as was the case before. In the case of a pessimistic development of the number of passengers, it will be 12 million crowns, with a more optimistic development 20.5 million crowns. “
Vladimír Vytiska emphasized the need for balanced development of the airport and the region and recalled the possibilities that the connection of the airport to rail transport can bring with the gradual return of air traffic. “I also appreciate the participation of Air Traffic Control and the readiness of Prague Airport to build on existing cooperation and support, especially in the field of language education in schools and in the implementation of projects to improve the quality of life of citizens around the airport,” added Mayor Vladimír Vytiska.
