The flutist Maffizzoni on tour in Europe: after Berlin the concert in Vienna
The Mantuan musician will perform on February 1st in the prestigious Golden Hall of the Musikverein
MANTUA. Stefano Maffizzoni, Mantuan excellence in the world of classical music, esteemed and recognized flutist, for talent and interpretative ability, even outside the Italian borders, will play next February 1st 2022 in one of the world temples of classical music.
His next international concert will be in Vienna, in the prestigious Musikverein in the Golden Hall. It is a concert hall considered among the most elegant in the world, together with the Symphony Hall in Boston and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Later, in March (the date is being defined) Maffizzoni will play at the Hercules Hall in Munich and, then, a stop in the United States is scheduled for the summer.
Important dates, therefore, for the Mantuan musician, also known for his collaborations in the creation of theatrical and musical posters for Mantua, Castiglione delle Stiviere and Sirmione – just to mention the Mantuan and neighboring locations – and who is back on 24 October last , from a very important concert in the Philharmonie Berlin, home of the Berliner Philharmoniker. «A great emotion – confesses Maffizzoni – because at the time of my concert there were no new restrictions and the hall was full».
Among the public also some Castiglionesi, a town where Maffizzoni works as artistic director of the Teatro Sociale.
The concert saw him engaged as a soloist accompanied by the famous Berliner Symphoniker. The conductor was Conrad Van Alphen of the Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra.
Maffizzoni was involved in the virtuoso piece the “Fantasia Brillante su Carmen” for flute and symphony orchestra.
«A week of rehearsals to set up one of the best flute players with themes of the famous opera interspersed with pyrotechnic variations» explains the Mantuan artist.
At the end of the performance there was a standing ovation from the audience and a request for an encore, “which was satisfied with the suggestive piece Syrinx by Claude Debussy for solo flute” continues Maffizzoni. Which, moreover, also recalls the emotion of the dress rehearsal: «A touching moment with“ Best wishes ”that the orchestra sang to me since the day of the concert coincided with my birthday».
