Prague must be a partner for the government, it is not the enemy. I am glad that we are now promising to do this.

We are not waiting for anything and we have already started to fully negotiate future cooperation to solve the most pressing problems of our city, which can only be managed together with the government. Ivan Bartoš, as a candidate for the Minister for Regional Development, promised us full support and I thank him very much for that.

For example, our efforts will be to tame the housing affordability crisis. Construction procedures need to be speeded up and digitized in order to bring the number of flats to market as soon as possible. But we also want to get support for the municipal construction of affordable housing. The long-awaited housing law can help people who face housing problems.

At the same time, we finally need to have the tools in our hands to set our own rules for the operation of Airbnb. And we also want cities to be able to decide for themselves on their own territory as part of spatial planning. After all, it is the people in the municipalities who know what is most important for the development of their surroundings!

However, in addition to housing, we also touched on other important topics, such as how to ensure further smooth drawing of money from European funds, or the possibility of adjusting the rules for tourism so that Prague is a benefit and not a threat.

We can no longer wait for the pleasant change when the Ministry of Regional Development will take the interests of Prague and Praguers seriously with the Councilor for Housing, Adam Zábranský.
