Already over the Lettian peace, in Siena four candidates running to govern
FLORENCE. In the city where Enrico Letta celebrated the rediscovered unity, the Democratic Party is again splitting between currents, undercurrents, districts and contrade dem.
A few days before the start of the congresses in the clubs for the election of the citizen and provincial secretaries, and above all two months after the supplementary elections that elected the party secretary of the college in parliament, in the city of the Palio we are witnessing a new showdown. .
An almost unique case in Tuscany (almost everywhere an agreement has been reached), in the city the race for the city secretariat is becoming a thriller challenge. There are four candidates for the leadership of the Sienese Democratic Party. A key step, after all, because whoever wins the secretariat will have the ball in hand to choose the candidate for mayor in 2023.
So they challenge each other Massimo Roncucci, Giulia Mazzarelli, Guido Leoncini And Simone Petricci. The first, outgoing secretary, is close to the left dem and the area of the secretary Letta, which also includes the regional councilor Simone Bezzini; the second is considered close to the Tuscan secretary Simona Bonafè and the former mayor Franco Ceccuzzi, which rumors claim is thinking of reapplying.
However, they are more convinced that in the end the two could find an agreement; the third is an expression of the party’s reformist area, that of the former Renzians close to the former mayor Bruno Valentini and the former deputy Luigi Dallai. Petricci is instead a former DS, old guard of the party, close to Sandro Vannini, regional ombudsman and above all “gianiano” di ferro.
