Free Now has new general manager in Portugal – Marketeer
Bruno Borges is the new person responsible for Free Now destinations in Portugal. After two years as Operations Director, the professional now assumes the position of general manager of the mobility platform for the national market, succeeding Sérgio Pereira.
“It is with great pride and a sense of responsibility that I accept this challenge. The locations are perfectly identified and, as far as I am concerned, despite being ambitious, they are possible to achieve”, indicates Bruno Borges. In a statement, he also referred that the targets set were for gaining market share and reinforcing the status of leadership that Free Now already has at a European level in terms of multi-mobility platforms.
According to the new general manager, there are already some news prepared for 2022 in this regard and in line with the positioning of a sustainable company: «We want to obtain zero carbon by 2030 without, however, compromising the special and global quality of our services. We will, therefore, offer more and more mobility alternatives to our users. This, of course, without forgetting the core of our business, TVDE and taxi, in which we are committed to strengthening and strengthening the relationship with our drivers, who are, for us, essential to increasingly raise our operating standards. »
Bruno Borges has a degree and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Coimbra, having also passed through the University of Liège (Belgium). He specialized in urban mobility with a PhD completed at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil).
Since the beginning of his career, he has always been linked to urban mobility. He spent three years in Brazil, as head of Projects at LabTRans, then moving on to Portugal, where he joined MPT – Mobility and Territorial Planning and Exacto. Between 2018 and 2019, he assumed the role of Strategy & Operations consultant at Deloitte Portugal, coming soon after to Free Now, at the time still Kapten, as head of Operations.
