Russia and Vietnam signed an agreement on the development of cooperation
The defense ministries of Russia and Vietnam were held in Moscow on Wednesday. Then the military departments of the two countries signed a number of important agreements.
“On December 1, a bilateral meeting of Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu with Vietnamese Defense Minister General of the Army Phan Van Giang took place. At the end of the meeting, the Minister signed a bilateral intergovernmental agreement on the development of military-technical cooperation and an interdepartmental memorandum on cooperation in military history,” Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
During the talks, Sergei Shoigu appreciated that Russia and Vietnam have accumulated a unique experience of joint work, which is based on long-term friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation. Vietnam is one of the key states in the Asia-Pacific region with modern and well-equipped armed forces.
Shoigu recalled that this year Vietnam became the first country in Southeast Asia to host the International Army Games 2021 competitions. According to the minister, the competitions were held there at a high level, with great support from the military-political leadership of the state.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was informed that the prospects for military and military-technical cooperation between Russia and Vietnam are being discussed in the part closed to media representatives. And also outlined a plan for future joint work.
It is reported that Sergei Shoigu’s meeting with Fan Wang Giang confirmed the mutual disposition to consistently build up multifaceted cooperation between the military departments of the two countries.
