The footballers of the future in Debrecen received a classroom on the Hungarian football day – with a video
Debrecen – On the occasion of the Hungarian Football Day, a sports science classroom was inaugurated at the János Balásházy Training School of the University of Debrecen.
68 years ago, on this day, the Hungarians defeated the English national team 6: 3 at Wembley Stadium, so we consider this to be Hungarian Football Day.
“Even fewer people who live intensively in football know what happened then in 1953,” said Balázs Makray, chairman of the Fair Play Committee of the Hungarian Football Association, at the inauguration.
On the occasion, a sports science orientation department was opened at Balásházy Secondary School. At the event, András Herczeg, President of the Debrecen Football Academy, said that the educational institution is an important basic school for Debrecen football life.
“Balásházy is a partner school of the Debrecen Football Academy, so it is natural that they remember the golden team here,” András Herczeg emphasized.
The institution has been training and educating certified athletes, especially footballers, for more than ten years. The now handed over room has been created thematically in line with the training of the sports technical departments. Theoretical instruction will be provided by teachers here.
“With this room, we also remind children of the historical roots that can be relied on, what can be reached if training is more tiring,” said Andor Tarsoly, the institution’s deputy director.
The institution has more than 600 full-time students and 22 classes. Thus, the room will be an important arena for sports technical training.
