“On average, foreign drivers were responsible for 61.5 percent of all road accidents with their participation. In almost two thirds of cases, drivers – citizens of Armenia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan – were guilty of road accidents, only in the countries of the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, ”the study says.
Also, the number of road traffic accidents related to traffic violations by citizens of countries increased by 3.6 percent and the number of people injured in such accidents increased by 1.5 percent. The largest number of such accidents occurred in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in the Moscow and Sakhalin regions. In total, from the beginning of the year to September, due to traffic rules by foreign drivers, 3,540 accidents occurred on the roads in the country.
