Hanover (AP) – Interior Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) and Justice Minister Barbara Havliza (CDU) in Hanover today will inform about the fight against criminal gangs in Lower Saxony. The “Organized Crime Situation Report 2020” will provide information on how the number of criminal offenses has developed during the pandemic. In 2019 there were more than 60 investigations into organized crime between the Harz Mountains and the North Sea, almost half of them related to drug trafficking and smuggling.
As the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) announced at the beginning of November, gang crime in Germany is causing ever greater damage. According to this, the perpetrators obtained nationwide assets of more than one billion euros through their criminal machinations in 2020. The gang members are often armed.
