Good news both for this school and for the school world in general, because it speaks of the future and of a restart.
The Councilor for education and training Alessandra Nardini inaugurated this morning, November 19th, the new graphics laboratory of the ‘G. Caselli ‘di Siena, a historic school in the Sienese area which in recent years has the largest number of students in the province.
The setting up of the innovative laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, was created thanks to funds from the PON project ‘Inclusion and welcome in the school through the DAD of the future’ and will be available to students of the homonymous course of study.
Says Nardini:
The laboratories enrich the didactic offer of our school realities and having a new one dedicated to graphics is really important, for the students who are training here and for those who will arrive in the coming years.
It is a duty to guarantee the knowledge and use of new technologies to the younger generations.
The councilor was welcomed by the head teacher Luca Guerranti and the supervisor of studies Renata Mentasti, who underlined the synergy between the territorial office and the school which, in compliance with the prevention protocols, offers participatory and engaging teaching.
The setting up of the innovative laboratory allows a further expansion of the educational offer of the Institute, which for years has been investing in the professional training of its students, providing them with study paths for the acquisition of sector skills that respond to the needs and entrance of the territory: it is the seat of a professional technical pole, PTP, on tourism, it is a member of two ITS courses, ITS Energia – Ambiente di Colle val d’Elsa and ITS Tab on tourism and cultural heritage, and is also a regional center for training of the teachers.
I am really happy with the atmosphere in this institute and to return to visit the schools of Tuscany
added Councilor Nardini who recalled how it was
particularly the phase experienced in recent months, for everyone and for everyone, but even more for the world of school. Precisely for this reason, today giving answers to the needs of young people must be our priority, starting with the right to education, a central element in this restart.
I really want to thank the managers, teachers and all the school staff because with dedication, even in the hardest months of the pandemic, they guaranteed the continuation of teaching in the presence when it was possible, and at a distance when it was necessary.
As a Region of Tuscany, we have worked hard on teaching in the presence of the Region of Tuscany, because we are convinced that the DAD cannot replace it for a long time: school is also sociality, an important aspect of the training and growth of the younger generations.
Finally, I thank you for this very welcome invitation which allowed me to visit an important and scholastic reality in Siena.
