Oleksiy Arestovich, a freelance advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine and press secretary of Kiev in the contact group on Donbass, claims that Russia, against the background of tensions on the border of Belarus and the EU, may “go on the offensive” against Ukraine. He stated this on the air of the TV channel “Dom”.
“Capable,” Arestovich replied when asked if Russia was capable of going on the offensive amid tensions on the border.
According to him, the speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova began to announce the results of the meeting of the trilateral contact group while it was still taking place. Arestovich claims that all the results were prepared in advance.
“They were very simple: that we are building up a militaristic force, that it is Kiev that wants to attack Donbass first, and NATO is helping it. That France and Germany took the position of Kiev, NATO is helping them to create a grouping in the Black Sea, which was later said by (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, ”Arestovich said.
For his broken, this is a “bad” situation. He also noted that “for the first time since 2014, the level of military danger – political, hybrid – is similar to the level of late 2013 – early 2014.”
Previously, the plenipotentiary of Russia in the contact group Boris Gryzlov declaredthat the members of the Ukrainian group in the contact group on the settlement in Donbass are “playing the fool.”
