Despite worries: KTV Straubenhardt is aiming for a victory in Frankfurt – sport
Straubenhardt. After a break of several weeks in the league, the Bundesliga team of KTV Straubenhardt is visiting Eintracht Frankfurt this Saturday. Starting at 6 p.m., the devices in the Hessian metropolis are ready for use. It is the last competition in the preliminary round.
In the previous two competitions, the gymnasts from Straubenhardt had a 33:39 defeat against Siegerland KV and a 37:19 victory against SC Cottbus. Before the final duel in group A, KTV is third in the table with two points. The Frankfurters have not yet posted a counter and are thus the bottom of the list.
From the Straubenhardter’s point of view, the original starting position appears less than happy before the last preliminary round competition. The KTV team has had to deal with a number of injury-related absences this season. So now Alexander Maier has to undergo shoulder surgery, while Marcel Nguyen, Nick Klessing and Karim Rida cannot yet be used on the devices again.
“The boys know that it really matters on Saturday,” says sports director Steve Woitalla, describing the motivation of his athletes. With Andreas Bretschneider and Dario Sissakis, two participants of this year’s world championship are ready for the away competition. Likewise the top scorer and Russian team Olympic champion David Belyavskiy.
Ivan Rittschik, Pascal Brendel and Nils Matache complete the KTV team. Together they want to achieve the best possible performance with a portion of team spirit in order to win the competition on Saturday.
