Tariffs – Hanover – warning strikes continue: demo of young employees – careers
Hanover (dpa / lni) – Public service workers in the federal states are called to go on warning strikes even today. Young nurses from university clinics and hospitals, student employees from universities and colleges and other trainees are expected to attend a demonstration (1.30 p.m.) in Hanover. The Verdi union expects around 800 participants from Lower Saxony, Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin and Hamburg to take part on “Youth Strike Day”.
Reinhold Hilbers handed over their demands. The CDU politician leads the collective bargaining for the federal states and recently rejected the demands as unrealistic.
Verdi and the official association dbb demand five percent more salary for more than one million state employees nationwide, but at least 150 euros per month, in the health sector even 300 euros more. Apprentices, students and interns should receive 100 euros more per month. The Education and Science Union (GEW) Lower Saxony has also called for action this Wednesday. School employees in Braunschweig, Göttingen, Hameln, Hanover, Oldenburg, Osnabrück and Wolfsburg are taking part in the nationwide warning strike at GEW in Lower Saxony.
