Russian infectious disease doctor Evgeny Timakov in an interview with RIA News named the most effective drug for revaccination against coronavirus.

According to the specialist, any Russian vaccine can be revaccinated against COVID-19, but he called Sputnik V the most effective, since it prevents severe disease, death and the disease itself.

“There will be no side effects, the two platforms will combine each other. Scientific data on these have not yet been published, research is underway, ”the specialist explained.

According to Timakova, foreign studies show that a combination of various vaccines is effective in preventing infection, and combined immunity can more actively form virus-neutralizing antibodies.

Earlier, an expert from the World Health Organization (WHO) conducted a revaccination with a third dose, since the immune protection after vaccination against coronavirus lasts only a few months. He clarified that it is best to revaccinate with drugs modified to combat new strains, including the delta variant, for this purpose it is easier to use mRNA vaccines.
