Choose a beautiful place
What would a nice photo be without a nice decor? The photos of Forza Horizon 5 will take place this year in Mexico, a country conducive to paradisiacal landscapes, and therefore to beautiful photos.
If you want to take pretty photos, you have to go to a place that you like and that catches the eye depending on the expected result. Do not hesitate to take a look at the Forza Horizon 5 map to find a wide variety of places such as swamps, northern canyons or the great desert plains.
The environments of Forza Horizon 5 are very varied and allow everyone to find a good spot to take a beautiful photo. Sometimes you just have to turn around to see something that otherwise would have escaped your notice. Also, don’t forget that it is possible to use the right and left buttons of the D-pad to rotate the camera and sometimes give a nice effect to the photo.
The best time to take a photo
Use the light well
To achieve a beautiful photo, the most important is the light! Exactly like in photography. Without the light, no photo, and that’s good since Forza Horizon 5 manages the day / night cycle wonderfully, often with magnificent skies at the end of the day.
- The morning light is soft and cold. It therefore draws more towards the blues.
- Midday light is strong, but tough. This means the shadows are stronger. In the photo, we avoid this period of the day because the light “crushes” the elements of the decor since it comes from above with the sun at noon. The result is often not terrible.
- The end of the day light is soft and warm. This is an excellent time to take pictures since the sun is located at a lower altitude. We also talk about “golden hour” where warm colors caress the landscapes, giving them a nice pleasant shade. The shadows are softer and sometimes stretched, which can look nice on flat landscapes.
- The night, there is obviously not much light. But this is not a moment to be avoided since the cities of Forza Horizon 5 are lit, just like the surroundings of the festivals. Playing with the light from the headlights can also be interesting, as can using the starry sky.
- Any photo that shows the developers’ work on the illuminated particles
Find an interesting visual point
- Think of the birds that can dress the sky
In photography, we often talk about the rule of thirds to create a nice shot. This is a concept of framing and composition that allows you to place your subject on the photo. This rule doesn’t have to be followed, but it’s still a good idea to think about what’s in the frame when taking a photo in Forza Horizon 5.
Depending on the style of photo you want, it may or may not be interesting to include elements of the decor in the image. A pretty surfboard, a public on a terrace, animals, a waterfall at the bottom … the possibilities are endless and only your imagination will speak in the end!
- Sometimes you have to give perspective
Using the weather and the seasons
- Sometimes the decorations are sufficient on their own
Forza Horizon 5 has different weather conditions as well as different seasons, so it’s perfect for taking completely different photos depending on the conditions in the game! Rain can leave very pretty drops on a bodywork while sandstorms give the image a very interesting apocalyptic look.
The limit is that it is not possible (for now?) To choose the time of day or the weather or the season of the game in the photo mode of Forza Horizon 5. You have to be present. at the right time to achieve the best shot.
- Rain and setting sun go hand in hand
The seasons also give completely different hues to the vegetation of the game and the snow also makes it possible to take pictures quite different from what we are used to seeing. You can also find snow at the top of the volcano, including in hot seasons.
Photo mode options, endless possibilities!
Once you are in the right place at the right time, this is where your creativity should speak! There are a lot of options in Forza Horizon 5’s photo mode for you to create a nice photo. Here are some of the options available and what they allow in the game.
- Shutter speed : This is the time during which the shutter opens when the camera is released. It is still a notion of light here since the longer the shutter opens, the more light it brings in. Without going into too much detail, the higher the shutter speed in Forza Horizon 5, the more “drag” and “blur” effects you can achieve when the car is in motion. It is a blur of movement.
- Forza Horizon 5 – different shutter speed levels
- Opening : The aperture is also linked to the light and plays on the quantity of light which enters the camera through the lens. In the photo, it is measured in “F” but in Forza Horizon 5, you just have to play with the gauge on the screen. The more you increase the aperture, the greater the background “blur”.
- Contrast, color and brightness : Use these parameters to adjust the color rendering in the image.
- Sepia : This parameter desaturates the colors. Often this gives a vintage effect to the photos.
- Thumbnail : This parameter is used to give importance to the center of the image by applying a thumbnail around it. This can sometimes allow disturbing elements around the image to be masked, but since we are not in actual photography here, it is better to play with the framing in this case. Note that using vignetting with blur can generate a more or less strong “miniature effect”.
- Temperature : Here, it is a question of adjusting the color temperature. This makes it possible, for example, to soften colors that are too cold by increasing the temperature of the image.
- Sampling : This parameter is important. Choose “Quality” for the rendering of the photo to be optimal. This is all the more important when there is foliage in the photo you want to take.
- Default filters and presets : If you don’t want to play with all the settings one by one, there are default filters at the very top of the options. You can thus activate the black and white mode easily and adjust it later (for example, by decreasing the contrast which is by default quite high).
How to activate the drone in Forza Horizon 5
To activate the game’s drone, you must open the main menu of Forza Horizon 5, go to the “Creation interface” tab and then choose “Drone Camera”.
This is the best way to have total freedom of movement! The drone camera makes it possible to move freely throughout the map and even to pass through the car. You can get it from any angle you want without any effort. Note that the picture adjustment options are not available in this mode.
The drone mode is also very useful to more easily find the barn treasures in the game.
