SAULIEU: The Bernard Loiseau Group buys the La Tour d’Auxois hotel
The three-star hotel reopens this Thursday, February 2 to offer “the same Burgundian atmosphere” as the Relais Bernard Loiseau.
Bérangère Loiseau, vice-president of the Bernard Loiseau group, formalizes the acquisition of the hotel “La Tour d’Auxois” located opposite the Relais Bernard Loiseau, in Saulieu.
It reopens its doors on February 2, like the Relais Bernard Loiseau (annual closure in January).
It is a charming hotel, classified 3 stars (unlike the Relais which is a 5 star hotel, Relais&Châteaux).
It has 35 rooms (prices from 110 euros), which doubles our capacity (the Relais has 34 rooms), as well as a swimming pool in the pretty flower garden.
Beyond having a very pretty view of the facade of the Relais Bernard Loiseau and the Auxois mountains, this hotel transcribes the same Burgundian atmosphere as the Relais: beautiful terracotta tiles, Burgundy slabs, woodwork.
Built on the very ramparts of the city (13th century), this 17th century building was a former convent located at the gates of the Morvan.
This acquisition is completely logical for the Bernard Loiseau group, given the possible synergies with the Relais teams, and its anchoring strategy.
It broadens the spectrum of customers and offers an alternative to customers who wish to sit at the starred table “La Côte d’Or”, or bistro, or spa (access at a preferential rate for customers of the Tour d’Auxois), or seminar area.
A few days before the tribute to Bernard Loiseau (20 years old), this acquisition and the upcoming opening of the new restaurant in Besançon, shows how much the family, strong in its past, is looking to the future.
