For the good air: schools in Debrecen received measuring instruments from Sensirion – with video
Debrecen – The company provided self-developed devices for measuring the indoor concentration of carbon dioxide to four primary and one secondary education institutions.
An Sensirion engineer also checked the air quality at Benedek Elek Primary School. In addition to the School, there are four other educational institutions from the facility.
“Kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools are also included in the program, which means that in order for our children to spend their daily lives in a healthier environment,” said József Hetei, head of the Benedek Elek Primary School.
Controlling indoor air quality is important because a carbon-rich environment reduces children’s ability to concentrate, which affects their hourly performance. But in the current epidemic, this also has additional health benefits.
– If we suck a room, the concentration of the covid virus can be much higher. So the concentration of carbon dioxide and the possibility of covid infection are in direct proportion to each other – pointed out László Ábrahám, the managing director of Sensirion Hungary Kft.
The instrument warns of the importance of ventilation, indicated by a red LED. According to Mayor Ákos Balázs, the donation fits well into the Green City and the Smart City program.
– It is a good example of how modern IT solutions can be put at the service of health and the environment, – emphasized Ákos Balázs.
It is planned that the instruments developed by Sensirion engineers will be used by other public institutions in Debrecen.
