Learning while having fun and tasting: this is the whole principle of Wine games, a new concept that has just landed at Toulouse.
Fun tastings
It is the owners of the restaurant Les petits crus, rue des Couteliers, who developed this innovative concept. And this new activity is well in the spirit of the establishment which, since 2018, offers to discover cheeses and wines, with the ambition to democratize the tastings.
With Wine gaming, wine tasting becomes downright fun. The concept is indeed thought of as an escape game: the participants must solve puzzles to hope to release a bottle finally.
Learn about wine while having fun
“We always want to discover oenology in a different way,” explains Bertrand Castaing, co-manager of the Petits crus. During each of the tests, the participants experienced things about wine. “
Corked wine, barrel aging, the secret of tannin or even the color of the wine are on the program of the game. And the candidates taste throughout the experience. Three wines are to be tested during each of the five events of this Wine gaming.
“At each event, the participants bring to light a symbol,” explains Bertrand Castaing. At the end, the combination of the five symbols frees a bottle: it is a cuvée made expressly for the Petits Crus, made from forgotten grape varieties. “
For novice oenologists
No need to be an expert to unlock the bottle: the game is aimed at novice oenologists. And even if the quantity of wines to discover during the game is important (about fifteen), you will not come out dead drunk from this Wine gaming: “Each time on serves 2 cl of wine: in the end it corresponds to a little less than two and a half glasses. And we can spit it out! », Specifies Bertrand Castaing.
The game is played in teams, a version for companies, with a large number of possible participants has also been developed.

Wine games Monday to Saturday, 5:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Duration, about an hour. 30 euros per person for a group of 6 to 12 participants.
