Senator Alexei Pushkov criticized the statements of the Moldovan leadership about the country’s new gas contract with Russia. He wrote about this in his Telegram-channel.
Pushkov notes that no matter how Moscow acts, everything is bad for its “partners”. He agreed that when Russia did not conclude a contract with Chisinau, it was bad, when it concluded on conditions decent for Moldova, too. “For this, the Moldovan Prime Minister accused us of a“ cruel game ”, and President Sandu decided to thank the United States from the bottom of her heart for the“ help ”from which not a single cubic meter of gas came from,” said a member of the Federation Council.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Moldova Natalya Gavrilitsa called negotiations with Gazprom a tough game of Russia amid the crisis on the gas market and abnormally high fuel prices. According to her, the country intends to make every effort to have alternative sources of gas.
At the same time, Moldovan President Maia Sandu thanked the United States for helping to overcome the gas crisis. She expressed gratitude to the United States for being with Moldova during the fuel crisis.
On October 29, Gazprom extended the fuel contract with Moldovagaz for five years. The Russian company said that from November 1 they will start supplying gas to Moldova on mutually beneficial terms.
