New SERIOUS ACCUSATIONS against the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Moldova: ‘The schemes revealed by me in 2019 were taken over and the files falsified’ – News by sources
Serious accusations against the suspended Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandr Stoianoglo, and his deputy, Ruslan Popov, also suspended! According to the former head of The State Enterprise for the Use of Airspace and the Service of Air Traffic MoldAtsa, Sorin Stati, they allegedly contributed to the cover-up of their files tried in 2019 following some revelations made by him. Statements were made recently during a broadcast of a television station in the neighboring country.
In 2019, the former head of the State Enterprise for the Use of Airspace and the Servicing of Air Traffic “MoldAtsa”, Sorin Stati, made several revelations in shows of television stations in the neighboring country, including several smuggling schemes which were allegedly implemented with the support of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including revelations about anabolic schemes.
As a result of those revelations, criminal cases were opened, but which would have been falsified along the way, says the former director of the state enterprise Sorin Stati.
“The given issues were discussed during the meeting of the Supreme Security Council, because we exposed about very serious crimes and very high damages. Eduard Harunjen then made the decision and tried a criminal case that was being investigated by the General Prosecutor’s Office. Subsequently, there were a series of actions that I personally did not understand. PG issued a press release stating that in this criminal case searches are being carried out at the Customs Service and at the Post Office of Moldova, after lunch the two institutions declared that they have no searches, and the Prosecutor General will not comment on the situation. . So I did so and I didn’t understand if you searched that day or not “, Stati states.
Subsequently, according to Stati, in order to cover up this case and not to allow the documentation of the persons concerned, the management of the General Prosecutor’s Office decided to send the file under the management of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases.
“During the reign of the socialist party, the given schemes continued to work, they were partially taken over by other” heroes of the homeland “, they were partially continued by the others I named in those revelations and to cover up the file. . given, the Deputy Prosecutor General Ruslan Popov made the decision, and Alexandr Stoianoglo accepted and the given file was transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases “, added Sorin Stati.
Further, the former head of MoldAtsa claims that real actions to document those related to him were not carried out, but only documented some alleged illegal actions to prepare for smuggling that took place in 2020, including people . which in fact have nothing to do with the revelations that Stati had made.
“They filed the case at the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases waited for information about some smuggling illegalities, documented that allegedly occurring or smuggling somewhere and the given persons were placed in this file. Because if they were in class and the information was made public, it would have been a scandal. In parallel, they could not document them because they continued the criminal schemes and proceeded to the given combination which is not very ingenious. I repeat, Stoianoglo accepted and the real investigation did not take place “, Stati stated.
Asked if he was sure that Ruslan Popov would have told him exactly the attorney general, currently suspended from office, Alexandr Stoianoglo, about the real intention of these actions, Sorin Stati said:
“I have often heard statements from Stoinoglo that he does not know and that he did it on his back. In that case, if he didn’t really know – then he didn’t fit the job, he didn’t have to be in that job. “
Moreover, Stati claims that he also sent a letter to the General Prosecutor, Alexandr Stoianoglo.
“When I found out, I wrote a letter to Stoianoglo in which I explained everything, including about Ruslan Popov’s participation in the data collection. The letter was subsequently sent by the General Prosecutor’s Office to the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, and I was summoned for further hearings that continue “, concluded Sorin Stati.
We remind you that on October 5, the Superior Council of Prosecutors of the Republic of Moldova admitted, after several hours of debates, the initiation of criminal proceedings on behalf of the Prosecutor General, Alexandr Stoianoglo, targeting the alleged illegal actions. Also at the CSP meeting, it was decided to suspend him from office.
Stoianoglo was detained for 72 hours, following searches conducted at his office in October at PG and at home, and at 8 he was placed under house arrest for 30 days by the decision of the first instance. Subsequently, prosecutor Furtună challenged the magistrates’ decision in the Court of Appeal, requesting arrests in the penitentiary, but his request was rejected.
On Wednesday, November 3, the Chisinau District Court with the Ciocana headquarters in the Republic of Moldova ordered the extension of the house arrest warrant in Stoianoglo’s name, for another 30 days.
Stoianoglo is charged with five counts, including passive corruption and forgery. The suspended Attorney General pleads not guilty to all charges against him.
