VIDEO: The covered P + R in Černý Most is ready, they will also park cars on the gas
“The rough construction is completely finished. Only the details inside the building are being completed, with the proviso that at the end of this month we would like to have it approved so that we can start live operation on December 1, 2021, “said Deputy Mayor Adam Scheinherr (Prague Sobě).
In Chlumecký there was originally a common parking lot with about 300 places. There is now a parking house on its area. Of the total number, 89 spaces are intended for parking cars on gas.
“It is one of the most modern parking houses in Prague, where most of them are prohibited from entering CNG / LPG cars,” said Scheinherr.
Another 22 seats are reserved for the disabled and 18 seats for parents with children, which are special wider seats. Eight places will be used for piercing electric cars. The house also has 28 places for motorcycles and a lockable place where cyclists can store their bikes.
Since the commissioning of the parking house, the City Hall of Prague 14 has been promising a drop in the number of cross-country drivers’ cars on its streets.
“Prague 14 does not have paid parking zones, so there is no regulation in our streets that would be functional. This applies to dozens of streets near the metro station, within walking distance of some 300 or 400 meters. There I perceive it as really critical, “said the Deputy Mayor of Prague 14 Petr Hukal (Pirates).
In the territory of Prague 14, another 101 parking spaces have recently been created on Chlumecká, when the unused parking lane, in which drivers have already parked illegally, was canceled. Another two dozen places were created at the tram loop in Lehovec.
The construction of P + R cost about half a billion crowns. Other parking lots will be created in Hostivař, Nové Butovice or Zličín.
Another will be in Opatov in the South Town, where the city is now finalizing project constructions.
“We could have a building permit next year. One of the largest parking houses we are planning will be in Zličín, “said Scheinherr. This year we obtained a building permit for a parking house in Dědina in Prague 6, but it will only be used for residents.
