HDI:Shaky chairs in Hanover
By Herbert Fromme, Cologne
The board of directors at the insurer HDI Deutschland is currently anything but a secure position. The management body under CEO Christopher Lohmann is being extensively restructured. At the end of June, Executive Board member Christoph Wetzel left the company belonging to the Talanx Group, followed two months later by Patrick Dahmen. And now it’s Wolfgang Hanssmann’s turn. The 58-year-old Head of Sales at HDI Deutschland will leave the Management Board at the end of 2021 and will then work for the insurer as a “Senior Advisor” for three years. With this move, HDI Germany prevents the well-known and well-networked Hanssmann from going to the competition and taking away a number of employees, agents and customers. HDI Germany boss Lohmann, 52, denies that disagreements between him and Hanssmann are the reason for the change. “We need a bit of a rejuvenation,” he explains the change. Hanssmann’s successor as Head of Sales at HDI Deutschland WILL be Stefanie Schlick, 48, who comes from Generali and was in charge of broker sales there.
