Slavia’s footballers defeated Olomouc 1-0 in the overtime and caught up with the second Sparta.
The footballers of Prague’s Slavia won the overtime of the 3rd round of the first league over Olomouc 1: 0 and finished the second Sparta in the table. Defenders of the title lose four points to the leader Pilsen, who they will welcome in Eden in Sunday’s hit. Today’s match was decided by Peter Olayinka in the fifth minute.
The match was postponed in the original August term after Slavia demanded more time to prepare before the retaliation of the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League with Ferencváros Budapest.
The Red and Whites won for the second time from the last six competitive duels, but they scored at home in the league in 55 consecutive matches. Olomouc suffered a defeat for the third time in the last four matches of the highest competition and remained seventh in the table.
“I’m glad we managed to win. But I’m sorry there were no more goals. The victory was supposed to be two or three goals. We had five or six chances, fortunately it didn’t cost us,” the Slavic coach told a press conference. Jindřich Trpišovský. “On Sunday, the leader of the table is waiting for us, it’s a match for six points. In the end, they can play a role in mutual matches. In the end, this match will be of great importance,” he added.
After the match, the car of the Olomouc club was attacked in Eden and one of its three passengers suffered injuries which, according to the head of Slavia, Jaroslav Tvrdík, required treatment in the hospital. “We apologize to the guests and we are ashamed of a group of people who are unprecedented and intolerable actions have nothing to do with the club’s cheering,” Tvrdík said on twitter.
After the match, a SK Sigma Olomouc vehicle was attacked in the club’s hall and one member of the three-man crew who was being treated in the hospital was injured. We apologize to the guest and we are ashamed of a group of people, their unprecedented and intolerable one has nothing to do with the club fan.

Recently, the uncertain goalkeeper Kolář was replaced in the Slavic goal by Mandous, who came to Eden from Olomouc, but he didn’t have much work to do at the beginning. The people of Prague started actively, the guests themselves helped them significantly to lead. Poulolo placed the ball out of reach for the home side’s keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The Nigerian winger scored in the third consecutive league match.
“Florent Poulolo may have chosen the right solution, he wanted to give Macík a small home. But the head was unstressed, terribly short, plus a very good reading of Olayinka. Slavia had her chances, but I’m sorry she won the goal after our huge mistake,” regretted Olomouc coach Vaclav Rye grass.
In the 10th minute, Kuchta knocked the ball into the goal, but the goal did not pay due to the previous offside. In the first half, the author of the goalie Olayinka had to change due to an injury and was replaced by Lingr. A fresh midfielder shot past Macík in the 28th minute, but the Slavists were again spoiled by the previous tight offside. In the 38th minute, he headed outside Kucht in a good position.
The top scorers of the league season failed even two minutes after the break, when a separate escape ended just outside last time. 10 minutes later, another attacker, Schranz, aimed inaccurately in front of Macík.
A while before, the Slavist Hromada sharply spoiled Hála and his revision was carried out by a video referee, Judge Szikszay, but in the end the originally awarded yellow card remained. “From the real point of view, it came to my edge very much. As soon as the information converges on me, they call for the fact that it should have been awarded red,” said Jílek. “I have not seen the Pile’s intervention yet. At the time when the player receives a yellow card and it is reviewed, anything can happen. I was already thinking about how we would react (to the exclusion),” said Trpišovský.
After an hour of play, Kuchta missed again. In the middle of the second act, Sigma also threatened, but Daňek’s wound was scraped by Mandous. Six minutes before the end, the Slavists threw away two more big chances, the Olomouc goalkeeper Macík was not overtaken even by the alternating Krmenčík. In the end, the home team didn’t have to regret the options so much, they have already kept the seventh win from the last eight league matches with Olomouc.
