Prague announces tender for technical supervision of construction of Dvorecký bridge, which will connect Podolí and Smíchov – ČT24 – Czech Television
The subject of the public contract is the provision of technical supervision of the investor, including technical supervision of the builder over the construction of the bridge. Technical supervision of the construction is required by law. “Offers will be evaluated according to their economic benefits,” the document says.
The eastern exit of the bridge will be at Žluté lázně north of Jeremenkova Street, the western one will lead near the Lihovar tram stop. It will be 388 meters long and 16 meters wide. The construction includes both bridgeheads, including a footbridge for cyclists, retaining walls and works of art.
The bridge will be complemented by the lack of connections for public transport, cyclists between the banks of the Vltava. “The construction will contribute to the improvement of interconnections between tram and bus connections in the Lihovar and Dvorce transport hubs and to the increase of the reliability and speed of public transport,” the material states.
Other Prague bridges are awaiting repairs
So far, the last Prague bridge over the Vltava, the Troja Bridge, was put into operation in October 2014. It replaced the Troja Tram Bridge from 1981, nicknamed the “Ramusák”, which was closed on 7 October 2013. Last year, the city opened a new footbridge over the Vltava which collapsed in 2017.
The municipality also recently selected the Skanska company in the tender, which will build a footbridge between Holešovice and Karlín across the island of Štvanice. Karlín and Holešovice should be connected in the future by the new Rohan Bridge, however, the municipality has not yet decided on its construction.
Many bridges over the Vltava are in poor condition and the city is gradually being repaired, currently for example Barrandovsky. The Libeň and Hlávkův bridges are also awaiting repairs.
