The volleyball players have won twice and will challenge the extra-league Lions Prague on Wednesday
But the difficult start to the season will continue. Pilsen will also appear on the home board on Wednesday, when it will welcome the extra-league Lions Prague in the cup match. The match starts in the hall of PF UWB Pilsen on Chodské náměstí from 7 pm.
USK Slavia Plzen – VK EGE B&W 3: 1 (25, -24,19,20)
Pilsen lineup: Holan (N.), Brabec (U), Kraus, Parkán (S), Dohnal, Nový (B), Hnojský (L)
Nervous entry into the match, a subsequent break in the middle of the first set and a dramatic ending. This is roughly the way to describe the course of the first set from the home point of view. The second set was similar to the first, the opponent even led 19:23, on the contrary, the home team still struggled for a dramatic ending, which was eventually dominated by České Budějovice. In the middle of the second set, the extra-league smasher of Karlovy Vary, Martin Fišer, also got on the board with a substitute for Kraus. Above all, he revived the home team’s game and helped start the team in the next set. In the third and fourth set, all home game activities must be further improved. Above all, with a good defense on the net, Pilsen can defend its opponents very well and thus watch the development of the match without much difficulty.
USK Slavia Plzeň – VŠSK IFF Prague 3: 1 (23, -18,23,20)
Pilsen lineup: Holan (N.), Brabec (U), Kraus, Parkán (S), Dohnal, Nový (B), Kozel (L)
The people of Plzeň recorded a significantly better entry into the match in Saturday’s match against the fighters from Charles University. They worked out a lead, which they gradually lost during the set and gained the winner of the first set only in the tense ending, when, according to the decision of the judge, the IFF smasher smashed the castle and Pilsen won the set.
However, the tangible start of the Matiks forced the home coaches in the second set to replace the universal Jakub Brabec with the adolescent Adam Šindler and the recorder Jiří Holan for Jiří Ulč in an unfavorable situation. Unfortunately, it didn’t help either, so the second set belonged to ours. In the third part, the changed line-up continued with another change, when Jakub Brabec joined the block.
By a more accurate interlude and a game in the middle of the net, Plzeň was able to decide the hitherto well-functioning defense of the guests and better improve the statistics on the attack. I can’t easily dramatize my opponent for the third period and the home team has been watching the fourth one without any problems.
“At the beginning of both matches, there was a feeling of nervousness, not only on our side, but also on the side of the opponents. After all, it wasn’t played for a year, and moreover for us it was the first first league match after eight years. Over half of the players in our team do not yet have any experience with the first league. Even so, I have to evaluate both matches very positively, the boys did well with the opponents. Both EGE and Matica are opponents with whom we wanted to play a body. With all due respect to them, they are definitely more playable than Lions of Prague and Dobřichovice, so the gain of six points is for the next one for further progress in the competition, “said Jan Hrubý, coach of USK Slavia Plzeň.
“We will have two more matches in a week. We know what else to work on, where we have the biggest weaknesses. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised by the entry of our two Benjamin girls, Cuba Hnojský and Adam Šindler, into the game. In Friday’s and Saturday’s matches, further that they are not on the roster just to fill in the blanks in the note, but that they fully deserve their place in the team, “the coach of the Pilsen volleyball players praised the new young faces.
