Frankfurt / Main (dpa) – In the third quarter, Deutsche Börse benefited from the turbulence on the electricity market, among other things. In addition, recent acquisitions continued to pay off. The Dax company announced on Tuesday evening in Frankfurt that net sales rose by 18 percent to 838 million euros in the months of July to September compared to the previous year.
According to the information, the increase is primarily due to the business expanded with acquisitions outside of volatile stocks. In addition, the rise in gas and electricity prices led to high trading volumes on the EEX electricity exchange. This would enable the group to compensate for the stagnating business in share trading and by hedging against risks.
Earnings before interest, taxes and fees (Ebitda) rose in the third quarter by a quarter to almost 500 million euros. The revenues and the operational profit fields are by and large as expected by experts. In addition, as expected, the Group confirmed its forecasts for the current year and the medium-term targets.
