From Vienna to Castelnuovo Rangone, the exhibition “Wittgenstein 2021” Events in Modena opens
A Castelnuovo Rangone I arrive WITTGENSTEIN 2021. Saturday 23 October there will be the vernissage of the exhibition set up at the medieval tower, born from the collaboration between the artist Denise Parizec, curator and gallerist of the 12-14 Gallery in Vienna, the artist Laura Rambelli, co-curator of the exhibition, and the Municipality of Castelnuovo Rangone, which made it possible to present a smaller, but still precious version of the larger exhibition.
The exhibited artists get from different countries such as Italy (Laura Rambelli and Stefano Bernardi), Bulgaria (Mandarina Brausewetter, Valentina Lapcheva, Svetlana Mirceva), Russia (Vera Klimentyeva), Romania (NOIMA), Hungary (Àgnes Hamvas), Germany (Michael Koch ) and Austria (Maria Grün, Eva Maria Schartmüller, Hubert Hasler, Robert Reszner, Franz Wassermann), as well as from Mexico (Oscar Cueto) and Japan (Yukika Kudo).
The internationality of the artistic context is the result of global cooperation and a common thought on contemporary art. The theme of the WITTGENSTEIN exhibition, curated by Denise Parizek and Laura Rambelli, is treated by the artists from a philosophical, technical, religious, architectural and private perspective. Most of the works were created on the occasion of this exhibition project. The exhibition WITTGENSTEIN 1918 – 2018, held in the Haus Wittgenstein in Vienna, was the starting point, other temporary exhibitions were held respectively in 2019 at the cultural center of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, and in 2020 at the Art Quarter in Budapest, shortly before the first lockdown, which was followed, due to the pandemic, by a digital version of the exhibition in summer 2020, hosted at the Podroom Gallery in Belgrade.
The complexity and diversity of the program aim to erect a monument to the genius of the philosopher Ludwing Wittgenstein, one of the greatest thinkers of the twentieth century, and, through the vision of the proposed works, the spectator the spectator with the thought of Wittgenstein himself. The types of works include drawing and painting, transfer printing, installations, even including films, installations and performances, in a selection of works of art that does justice to the diversity of Wittgenstein’s personality.
On the occasion of the vernissage, the exhibition will be open from 3 pm, followed by 5 pm Laura Rambelli will perform in a live performance entitled Retreat, which the artist herself describes as follows: “It is the story of silence, of those magical moments of emptiness between one period and another and of the cyclical process that nature incessantly demands from the human being. Many times it happens that it is silence that is the greatest of noises, so intrusive as to be annoying. In these moments it happens that I would like to create quickly but everything is in chaos and the only thing to do is to stand still. In fact, working together and not against this noise, one suddenly realizes the wonder of the world, ‘of which language cannot speak’, as Wittgenstein declares ”.
The exhibition will be set up at the medieval tower of Castelnuovo Rangone on weekends from 23 October to 7 November, from 10 to 12 and from 16 to 19; access is free and allowed only with Green Pass and you will need to wear the mask.
