ALL ANTWERP: “I am fully rehabilitating, my … (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Gabriel Caldarusa (50):
Elien Van Wynsberghe
“I’m from Wallonia, but I’m going to Antwerp in April. I had an accident with my motorcycle. I fell and my right arm is completely broken. I came here to be treated and come to rehabilitate. I’ve been with it for a year and had to undergo all kinds of surgeries. It’s getting a little better now, but it’s still not great. Sorry, this is not a positive story.”
“I do plan to continue living in Antwerp. I met my girlfriend here. In the hospital. I go there quite often… She works in the radiology department.”
“I think Antwerp is a beautiful city. Modern too. Every day I discover a new building. I have a house in the Green Quarter. I like living there. I don’t work yet. I’m still in the process of rehab. But before my accident, I was a sales representative for a company in America. We make books for university students. I often travel to America, to almost anywhere in the country. I like to go there, but I could never live there. There is more competition and it is all a bit more superficial.”
