Members of the expedition “Russia-2021” reached the Tyumen region
In December 2021, having covered 35 thousand kilometers, travelers will complete the route at the Krasnaya Polyana resort.
Cyclists of the complex expedition “Russia-2021” led by the famous Kuban traveler Konstantin Merzhoev have already passed the Omsk region and on October 15 the border of the Tyumen region.
The members of the expedition will stay in the region for two days. They will visit Sladkovsky, Kazansky and Berdyuzhsky districts, where they will meet with schoolchildren.
– Our task is to describe hard-to-reach places, put them on a map, take photos and videos. Also carry out educational and patriotic work with the local population along the way, – said Konstantin Merzhoev.
Expedition “Russia-2021” started from Sochi on March 3, 2021. Travelers by bike, car, icebreaker and on foot will circle the country along its borders. Having covered 35 thousand kilometers, they will complete the route at the Krasnaya Polyana resort.
Behind the pedestrian, car and bicycle stages. Now part of the team is moving around on bicycles again. Ahead of them are the Tyumen, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg and Saratov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, the republics of Dagestan, Chechen, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Kabardino-Balkar and Stavropol Territories.
Another part of the team is on board the research and expedition vessel of Roshydromet “Mikhail Somov”. The ship is sailing along the Northern Sea Route.
During the expedition, its members will conduct scientific research on the flora and fauna of the places where they will visit. They will study the customs, cuisine, culture and history of the peoples inhabiting Russia in order to show with specific examples how multifaceted and rich our country is. In addition, travelers will draw up new routes that will contribute to the development of domestic tourism in Russia. Also, based on the results of the expedition, a documentary film of several series will be created.
