Delays on the train line from Beroun to Prague will last another four years
The annoying delays experienced by trains on line 171 between Prague and Beroun will not just disappear. This was confirmed in the hall of the Hořovice town hall by the Central Bohemian councilor for public transport Petr Borecký during a meeting between President Petra Pecková and the mayors of municipalities from the Beroun region. The route is currently at maximum capacity and there is no ideal solution. Passengers will therefore have to endure until 2026, when the repair work should be completed.

The problematic line has been plagued by outages and irregularities caused by the ongoing modernization of the section for over a year. The situation is expected to improve slightly, but not to be resolved. “Unfortunately there is nothing even the best news at the moment. I had several meetings with the Ministry of Transport. Although the situation will improve a bit since December this year, timetable repairs, but the problems will not go away. At least it was possible that some express trains heading to Prague will be built in the inner zone as well, in order to relieve passenger traffic and so that the irregularities are not so great, “Borecký explained.
Therefore, in order to maximize the load on the route, passengers will have to be patient for the next four years. “The capacity of the line is simply exhausted and its reconstruction will take at least until 2026. It can therefore be seen in the next four years that the problems in this section will not stop,” the councilor added.
