The Norman Belly and Gastronomy Festival is making a big comeback in the heart of Rouen (Seine-Maritime), Saturday 16 and Sunday October 2021. The guest of honor this year is the Hauts de France region, with the presence, among other delicacies, of the Momo chip shop, seen in the film Welcome to the Ch’tis.
Up to 150,000 people expected
On this occasion, several streets will be pedestrianized and closed to parking, from Friday, October 15 at 11 p.m., and until Sunday at 9 p.m. The City of Rouen gives details of the streets where parking will be prohibited and considered inconvenient:
• rue Jeanne d’Arc, between rue aux Ours and rue Ganterie,
• rue Rollon, between Place du Vieux-Marché and rue Jeanne d’Arc,
• rue aux Ours, in the first four places of the north lane, in the part between rue de la Vicomté and rue Jeanne-d’Arc,
• rue Guillaume-le-Conquérant, between Place du Vieux-Marché and rue Jeanne-d’Arc.
Between 120,000 and 150,000 visitors are expected.
Many activities planned
Beyond the presence of 140 local producers, the Festival of the belly and Norman gastronomy will also include its share of activities: installation of a mini-farm on the Place du Maréchal-Foch, marching bands in the streets, demonstrations of local chefs (including those of the restaurants Les Capucines, La Place, D’eux-même …), Place du Vieux-Marché at the restaurant stand, or even make-up for children at Place de la Pucelle, by the viking association Les enfants de Rollon (which also offers its culinary creation, the Vikinger sandwich).
To find your way around, if necessary, visitors can get information from one of the three information points, Place du Vieux-Marché and Place de la Pucelle and Place du Maréchal-Foch.
