New MPs? It doesn’t matter where they come from, says the political scientist
He will have two new representatives in the Vyškovsko Chamber of Deputies, namely the mayor of Bučovice Jiří Horák for the Spolal coalition and the director of the Kyjov hospital Lubomír Wenzl for YES. For the past four years, the region has had zero representation. “Vyškovská as well as Kyjov hospitals belong to the backbone network of regional hospitals. So they solve the same problems. I want to work on a systematic solution to make the study of medicine attractive to young people. And also to effectively motivate already finished, certified healthcare professionals to start their work in hospitals of our type, “Wenzl explained.
The social democrat Bohuslav Sobotka, who comes from the Vyškov region, already had a candidate as a resident of Prague. In addition, in 2018 he resigned from the mandate.
Pavel Kašník from Spol is a newcomer to the Chamber of Deputies from the Břeclav region, while Miloslav Janulík from ANO and Jana Krutáková defended their position on behalf of the Mayors. “I will continue to work, especially in the field of agriculture and the environment. The priority is also to improve the traffic situation, ie the construction of the D52, “said Krutáková.
Hodonín will be represented by the same number of deputies. Three newcomers will sit on the benches, namely the candidate of the coalition of Pirates and Mayors Martin Hájek and the current director of the Hodonín Hospital Antonín Tesařík and Jana Bačíková for Together. “I see it as a big problem that the South Moravian Region is underfunded. And certainly also the case of gravel sand near Moravský Písek, “says Bačíková. According to critics, the planned extraction there will endanger underground water sources.
As at the beginning of the last parliamentary term, there are two deputies from Blansko and both live in Blansko. Jan Hrnčíř represents the SPD movement in the Chamber of Deputies, Lenka Dražilová YES.
Deputies from Brno and Brno will have a smaller representation than four years ago in the lower house of parliament. In 2017, there were thirteen, now one less. Politicians living in the regional city predominate.
According to political science from Masaryk University, Otto Eibla has no influence on who the district MP is from. “After all, the Chamber of Deputies does not express the interests of the regions, but of the republic as a whole,” he warned.
On the contrary, there may be a better agreement between the government and the South Moravian Region if the composition at the national level is the same as the regional one. The composition of the new government is already being discussed by the representatives of the winning coalitions, together with the representatives of the second coalition, Pirates and Mayors. “If at the national level the government copies the region, then the Civic Democrat will negotiate with the Civic Democrat rather than one of the opposition parties sitting there,” Eibl is convinced.
South Moravia is led jointly by the ODS, the People’s Party, the Pirates and the Mayors. “I believe in much better cooperation,” the People’s Governor Jan Grolich said in the election staff over the weekend.
