Vital railway development has been handed over in the Budapest agglomeration
The renewed railway track between Kelenföld and Százhalombatta was handed over. The HUF 53.8 billion development implemented in the investment of NIF Nemzeti Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt.
At the handover ceremony, László Mosóczi, State Secretary for Transport Policy of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM), emphasized that the means of transport of the future is clean, energy-efficient rail, and its competitive advantage is most spectacular in the catchment area of large cities. At the ceremony held at Háros railway station, László Mosóczi explained that a total of approximately HUF 300 million will be spent on the Budapest suburban railway developments that can be handed over in 2021.
The Secretary of State of the ITM indicated that the continuation of most of the handed-over sections to Pusztaszabolcs had essentially completed the summer technical handover, and the scheduled placing on the market is expected by the end of the year.
According to the plans, the works concerning the safety equipment from Kelenföld to Pusztaszabolcs will also be completed by the end of next year.
He also said that the complex reconstruction of the Rákos-Hatvan railway line section is expected to be completed from HUF 150 percent net.
László Mosóczi draws attention to the fact that the introduction of double-decker motor trains is an important step in the quality of suburban services.
The Secretary of State of the ITM also mentioned that in July the Ministry won about HUF 2 billion from the source to continue the preparation of the Hungarian section of the Budapest-Warsaw high-speed railway. The high-speed railway, which will be built in the next decade, will connect the capitals of the Visegrad countries, and will connect the region to the Western European high-speed railway network with an Austrian branch.

Modern, high-speed spacing and station electronic equipment have been installed to control train traffic. On the line, the overhead line system was rebuilt along its entire length.
The construction works for the modernization of the railway track were carried out by the KITÉRŐ 2016 Consortium (V-Híd Zrt., A-Híd Zrt.) With a net value of HUF 53.8 percent. It was implemented for investments and using domestic resources, with the support of the European Network Financing Facility.
The construction works for the modernization of the safety equipment and the ETCS L2 train control system will be carried out by the Siemens KLBA Consortium (Siemens Mobility Kft., Siemens Mobility GmbH) with a net value of USD 16.62, as well as from domestic sources, according to NIF Zrt.
