Four off-duty CRS beaten and injured
Four off-duty police officers charged to CRS 30 in Châtel-Saint-Germain (Moselle) were attacked and injured in Calais (Pas-de-Calais), intervening in a brawl during the night from Saturday to Sunday. An investigation has been opened.
Police officers were violently beaten during the night from Saturday to Sunday, in Calais, rue Royale. These CRS 30 officials – traveling in the town – were out of service at the time of the events and had managed to get out of Discotheque 555.
That’s when they negotiated a fight “Which brought together about twenty alcoholic protagonists”, indicates the union SGP Police FO Unit, in a press release. “One of our colleagues announced his capacity to try to calm the situation and thus avoid injuries. The whole group then turned on our colleagues and started beating them up before fleeing ”.
Arm fracture and stitches
The scene was filmed by video surveillance. Four of the seven police officers present were injured during the assault and taken to hospital. One suffers from a broken arm and a flat summer. Others received stitches in the face and head. The police union “Hopes for a firm response from the courts against the aggressors of our colleagues who, once again, have shown their daily dedication, even when off duty”.
An investigation has been opened and there has been no arrest at this stage.
