Prague – Opera singer Štefan Margita today christened his album On the Right Way with songs by Michal Kindle in the Prague Dancing House with Friends in Prague. The young author Kindl wrote and selected 12 intimate and melodic songs for Margita, the basic themes of which are love and its various forms. The release of the album is followed by a tour called Intimity.
The album On the Right Way is not Margit’s first stylistic turn in his successful opera friendship. Some time ago, with his album Map of Love, X-mas and Melancholy, he proved that he does not resist the music of other genres. “I listened to Hana Zagorová’s chansons and according to her I learned when to take away from my opera performance. In the studio, I was tamed by producer Dan Hádl,” Margita said about the recording.
The album was created with arrangements by Hádel, in whose studio in Vyžlovka it was also recorded. For some songs, Kindl himself arranged the piano parts and Iris Moris played the cello. Kindl is the author of music and lyrics. Margita met him two years ago when he was the host on his tour.
The tour for the album On the Right Way started on September 17 in the Church of St. Jiljí in Strmilov and so far counts over thirty concerts, several foreign ones are also planned. As an addition, the program also includes the song Země, which did not make it to the album. The recording of the concert will also appear in the Czech Television program Doupě Mira Žbirky.
Margita, who is used to large opera productions, performs in a chamber ensemble only with cellist Moris and Kindle. “For me, it’s a new project and collaboration that I really enjoy. I have to say that people are absolutely wonderful and I’m also grateful that the audience walks and isn’t afraid. Nowadays, the situation is still quite difficult due to the pandemic,” she said. ČTK Moris. “As for the intimate atmosphere on the stage, it’s like going to the promenade in a swimsuit. We’re all there for each other, I call it” chamber nudity. “If the audience needs to spend an evening full of love, they’ll get their money’s worth,” we can .
More than 30 years ago, Margita won the Prague Spring International Music Festival and was engaged in the opera of the National Theater in Prague. At this time (1987-1991) he was still a soloist at the Vienna Volksoper. In 1992, he joined the Prague State Opera, where he worked until 1994. He performs mainly abroad, singing in the most famous opera houses. He celebrated his 65th birthday, which appears on August 3 this year, on September 14 at the Prague State Opera. Kateřina Kněžíková, Adam Plachetka and Jelena Židková sang at the gala concert. Margita’s wife is the popular singer Hana Zagorová.
