The rental of a shared bike via Lítačka starts, the municipality will give 12 crowns for the ride
Users connect the Lítačka account in one of the bikesharing applications and then get four free rides within 15 minutes for one day. Prague councilors also tried a quick and easy procedure on Monday.
The press conference was opened by the Mayor of the Capital City of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib, with the participation of Adam Scheinherr, the Deputy Mayor for Transport, Petr Tomčík, the Director of ROPID, and representatives of Rekola and Nextbike shared bicycle operators.
According to Petr Tomčík, director of ROPID, Prague City Hall now pays around 12 crowns for each rental of a shared bicycle via the Lítačka card.
Representatives of shared bicycle operators hope to increase the number of users, while noting that most loans are within 15 minutes, when users use the transfer of bicycles for short and medium distances up to 2-3 million.
“Sometime next year, it should announce a tender for the contract with the operator, for now for a trial run,” Adam Scheinherra pointed out why both Rekola and Nextbike joined the trial run. Connecting Lítačka cards with bikesharing is a long-term goal of the town hall. You can already rent a bike for all purchased coupons.
“This service works in many European countries and I am glad that we can also search for it for Prague residents from today,” said Mayor Hřib about the involvement of shared bicycle services in the Prague Integrated Transport system.
According to him, shared bicycles will simplify the transfer of the inhabitants of Prague from one end of the city center to the other.
