Infor wins large ERP order Amsterdam UMC
Amsterdam UMC has chosen Infor Cloudsuite Healthcare as its new enterprise resource planning (erp) environment. As far as we know, this is the first Dutch order for the American software group since the market launch last March.
Amsterdam UMC, which consists of the Academic Medical Center and the VU Medical Center, is one of the largest hospitals in Europe. In the authorities more than 16,000 employees care for 350,000 patients per year. Both hospitals work with their own ICT environments and application landscapes. That should become a joint environment in which the transition to one new ERP platform is an important step. The two university hospitals already work with one, almost completely electronic patient system.
The AMC still works with the CareCtrl ERP system, based on SAP, from PinkRoccade and VUMC met Oracle EBS. Both systems support all purchasing and financial-administrative processing per location. The AMC also used the SAP system for a number of processes in the areas of housing, building management and engineering/medical technology. At VUMC Ultimo is used for the latter processes. The AMC also takes effect from this facility management information system of Ultimo Software Solutions.
Information last March are Cloudsuite Healthcare on the Benelux market. According to the company, the software was developed specifically for healthcare organizations and will help healthcare institutions’ back-office processes better with their clinical activities. This cloud solution, running in the Amazon cloud, solutions for CareCtrl and Oracle EBS. The implementation process is expected to take just under two years.

“The new software should not cost more than 1.7 million per year”
Infor is collaborating with Apex Systems, part of the American IT group ASGN. Apex Systems acquired the Infor integration business this summer Avaap opened an office in Amsterdam at the beginning of this year. That company designs as a system integrator and switches the care automation providers. The total implementation process takes just under two years.
Infor is not entirely strange for Amsterdam AMC that Infor already uses Cloverleaf for the interoperability of healthcare data. The new ERP contract has a term of five years with an option to extend for five times two years.
No statements have been made about the value of the agreement. However, tender documents show that Amsterdam AMC annually spends approximately 1.7 million euros on the current ERP packages and that the new software may not cost more than this amount. However, Amsterdam AMC still takes implementation costs of up to five million euros into account.
