Autumn is a deeply fascinating time, a magical civil season. The heat is not too much, but the temperature is ideal for various activities or a revitalizing walk with the smell of wet earth.
Hiking or cycling are good options to study the colors and aromas of autumn. Mountain biking and trail races are starting to be scheduled and group tours through the most beautiful and hidden places in the Center of Portugal are starting to be designed for a gradual and healthy return to normality.
On foot or by bicycle, venture to the various routes in the center of Portugal. Discover a fauna and flora present in mountainous landscapes of loose stone walls and cascades of pure and crystalline waters.

Meet the Walkways in Central Portugal. Everyone deserves your visit, and the ones we suggest here are just a few, among many others. Come on, let’s enjoy it because, in the heart of low edge, we found the Naturtejo Geopark, one of the largest networks of walking routes. It is here, in the municipality of Oleiros, that we set off in search of the Orvalho Walkways and the Fraga de Água Alta waterfall. The Orvalho Walkways are part of the GeoRota do Orvalho and discovered routes to discover a territory with landscapes of unparalleled beauty. They are about 2 kilometers long, in their shorter version, and involve the Cascata da Fraga de Água d’Alta and Cabeço do Mosqueiro.
the walkways of Ria de Aveiro they are part of a broader project: the Ecological Cycling Way. In a lagoon landscape, you can develop to exercise and observe the fauna and flora. The Aveiro section begins at the end of the S. Roque Channel (under the A25 bridge) and runs for 7.25 km (of which 2.8 km in walkways), always along the estuary, through raised wooden walkways or gravel paths, allowing privileged contact with this area of the estuary, which was inaccessible to the population.
In the Leiria Region, in the municipality of Figueiró dos Vinhos, we find the Fragas de São Simão Walkway, in full Schist village.
The Fragas de São Simão Walkway is approximately 2 km long and now connects the Schist Village of Casal de São Simão, the River Beach of Fragas de São Simão and the Viewpoint. It is a place not to be missed and with all the conditions available for a day well spent.
Considered one of the 7 wonders of Portugal, at the Praia Fluvial do Penedo Furado, in the Region of Middle Tagus Ribeira de Codes, and the existing water bases in the surrounding area, provide the perfect setting for those who admire nature and want to combine comfort with tranquility. It is also here that we find the Penedo Furado Walkway, a short route with incredible secrets waiting for you to discover.
Located in a sensitive area of cliffs and dune systems, in full Western Region, the Walkways of Foz do Arelho were designed to protect the unique and rich biodiversity of this place. Although they cover a short route of 800m, its location on the cliffs, north of Lagoa de Óbidos and the beach at Foz do Arelho, make it a walking route not to be missed.
N/A Coimbra Region, in the middle of the Serra da Lousã, the Senhora da Piedade Walkways extend over 1200 meters. They are located between the place of Cabo do Soito and the tourist complex of Senhora da Piedade, providing easier access to the natural pools of the river beach of Burgo.
Fully Region of Viseu Dão Lafões, in Vouzela, the Walkways of the Cambarinho Botanical Reserve house a 1500m pedestrian path, on a walk full of oleanders (rare species of flower), butterflies, bees, birds and running waters, in an enchanting walk.

The road that leads to this waterfall takes us up the mountain, in a crescendo of color, where the green of the trees gives way to endless golds and reds. Be sure to visit a stunning corner of Serra da Estrela, the Covão D’Ametade, with scenes that look like painted by an artist. It is close to the source of the river Zêzere, which runs through a valley surrounded by large mountains, reflecting the surrounding tones in its water mirror.
Do you like more adrenaline? Want to see the landscape changes from another angle? Experience free flight sensations, in Linhares da Beira or Manteigas. Here, paragliding is an excellent option.
We now invite you to take a longer and longer walk, but one that is well worth the walk. There are 111 kilometers of pedestrian paths surrounded by bucolic spaces that inspire the senses and free the mind. AN Carmelite Route it is a spiritual journey traveled every year for years by years of pilgrims. In the case of a solitary or group experience, how motivations unfold in the experiences and life path of each one.
The route starts at Carmel de Santa Teresa, in Coimbra, next to the memorial of Sister Lúcia and ends at the Sanctuary of Fátima. The arrival at the Sanctuary translates into a collective feeling of pure emotion that remains, forever, in the memory of those who have already lived this experience.
Not center of portugal you breathe history and culture. We are not in the ideal location to explore not one, not two or three, but four fabulous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, united by History.
