Who is the prosecutor who will investigate the ‘illegalities’ of the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Moldova – News by sources
Victor Furtună is the prosecutor who will examine the legality of several actions taken by the general prosecutor, Alexandr Stoianoglo. It is about the involvement of the PG chief in the “Laundromat” case, the decision to give up the accusations brought by the controversial businessman Veaceslav Platon, but also others.
Furtună has been active in the prosecutor’s office since 2011. During 2011-2019, he worked in the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office, and in 2019 – in the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, according to abrir.md
He is known as the case prosecutor of Nicolae Chitoroaga, the former chief prosecutor of the PCCOCS, but he also investigated one of the two regarding Veaceslav Platon. It is a case regarding the defamation of a judge, in which Plato was accused of opening a bank card in the name of a magistrate, who investigated several previous cases, and put on him 300 thousand euros, from dubious sources. Subsequently, he took out the money, and everything was done without the knowledge of the magistrate, thus trying to discredit the judge.
Likewise, Furtună is the case prosecutor at the border police officers at Chisinau International Airport, detained at the beginning of October in a case launched for multiple acts of corruption.
