Sovremennik will present ten premieres in the new season – Moscow |
October 1st. Interfax-Russia.ru – The new 66th season of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater will be dedicated to the everyday life of an ordinary person, the artistic director of the theater Viktor Ryzhakov announced at the troupe gathering.
“Today we are opening the 66th season. This season is about today, we are studying a simple day of an ordinary person, ”Ryzhakov said.
According to him, the opening of the new season of the theater took place on the birthday of the Soviet and Russian actor and director of theater and cinema Oleg Efremov. In honor of this, on October 1, Sovremennik will host the performance “Forever Alive. History in Persons”, created for the 65th anniversary of the theater.
In the new season, Sovremennik will present five premieres on the main stage. Thus, the play “203-205” directed by Alexander Zhigalkin based on the play “California Suite” by Neil Simon will be presented. Also at the end of November, the play “Felix the Bird” will take place based on the play by playwright Mikhail Chevegi, stage director and choreographer Oleg Glushkov.
Artistic director Ryzhakov, together with writer and photographer Yuri Rost, will present the play “Full Height” in January 2022. “This is the story of his great creative life, which is growing into our country,” Ryzhakov noted.
In addition, the premiere of the play “Intuition” is planned for next February – the idea and production of Konstantin Khabensky based on the text of the Russian writer Alexander Tsypkin. Also in July 2022, the performance “Shakespeare” by the Hungarian director Attila Vidnyansky Jr. will take place.
On the “other stage” of the theater there are premieres: “The Tale of the Seven Hanged” – staged by Ivan Komarov; “Aldar” directed by Nikita Betekhin; the play “Black and Simpson”, in which the actor Nikita Efremov will play; project-dedication to Galina Volchek “Five Evenings”, as well as “Transformation” based on the story by Franz Kafka.
According to Ryzhakov, the theater is also scheduled to tour Tallinn, Khabarovsk, St. Petersburg in the new season and return tours in February 2022 at the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater (BDT).
