The first fine was imposed for an apartment with Airbnb, Prague wants to visibly label it
The negative consequences of the use of housing for short-term accommodation are criticized by both the local government and the local population.
Petr Msteck, the chairman of the Snesiteln association living in the center of Prague, lodged a complaint with the building council, on the basis of which the fine fell. He has long advocated the view that using this way is illegal. It is not a rental, it is a provision of accommodation services, ie a company, he said today.
The decision on the fine was issued by the construction site of Prague 1 and, after an investigation, was confirmed by the master in August this year. According to Marvanov, this is a precedent that confirms the first analyzes of the master and the ombudsman’s office. Fines can be imposed repeatedly, they can reach in and pl million crowns, introduce the councilor.
She added that the city is striving for the Ministry of Regional Development to issue a methodological instruction, which would determine the decision-making of the building authority in a similar case. According to them, if there is more of a similar decision, Magistrt has launched a free first counseling session.
We would like the resident and the owner of the property, who suffers from this problem, to contact our counseling center, where they will receive a specific first piece of advice for the initiative of the building administrator, she said. She added that in lt she handed it over to Klma Dostlová (for YES) about a meeting with the ministry, but she did not take place yet.
Signs for short-term living
We recommend that, on the basis of the opinion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, trade unions begin to enforce the obligation that houses with flats provided through the platform be marked from the outside.
According to the councilor, the problem is that the city does not know where the apartments are located, also because the platforms refuse even with the approved end of the obligation to provide information to the city. This is also the reason why people should report their negative experiences. Without suggestions from residents, we will not even know where the problem is, said Marvanov.
According to data from foreign websites, which deals with analyzes of short-term hostels, there are about 13,600 flats in Prague for short-term rented through digital platforms of the Airbnb type and only in Prague 1 it is 3,600 flats, said in July this year God
Helena Valtrov, the director of the Emblem Hotel in the center of Prague, states that the provider of classic accommodation facilities must fulfill a number of costly obligations, which the owner of the apartment providers completely avoid through the platform. According to them, it is, for example, a mandatory cadon revision, rights arising from anti-controversial and hygienic standards, or the obligation of all foreign nationals to the foreign police. She added that hotels fill out statistics on tourism, which are without a sweaty guest in apartments in front of him.
The capital is pushing for a law in the Parliament, which would, of course, allow the provision of housing across the accommodation platform. The city presented her with Snmovn, according to Marvanov, she did not discuss the current bag. Vm e e nov The Chamber of Deputies will find it, she said. Among other proposals in Prague was the power of associations of unit owners to limit the use of this method.
